Paint-It-Healthy.....A Volunteer Work Initiative That Has The Power To Kill Bacteria.....but first,
Some people are lucky to figure it all out very early in life. They get out of High School, go to the college of their dreams, graduate with a plan to do the very thing they intended right from the beginning.
My life didn't go that way at all, but you know what? Those things that I thought were perfect may have made my life a little easier, but I would not be where I am right now, surrounded by the people I'm with right now, affected by the things happeneing in my life right now, inspired by the miracles in front of me everyday. This is my journey.
It's been a long winding road that I've traveled to get where I am today. As I sit here and think about it.....that's life! One little choice at a time compounded over time brought me to this exact moment writing this blog post on a painting website that, at the moment, isn't talking much about painting.
So what choices can I make in my painting business today that will create branches in that winding road? Can it be that painting is my vehicle to help people live a better life? A way bring a little more hope, a little more comfort, a little more happiness, or maybe just a little more time.
My mom, Harriet C. Arey, spent a portion of her life fighting against infections while in hospitals and at home due to kidney transplant attempts and dialysis. That fight ended on October 30th, 2014. I wish there was more I could do to help her in that fight.
My mother was always willing to help people. If you knew her, you know this to be absolute. So today, in honor of my mother whose spirit lives in me everyday, I pledge to help as many people as I can to fight against infections with a paint that has been tested and proven to kill dangerous bacteria.
On October 28th, 2015 Sherwin Williams announced the lauch of Paint Shield. Paint Shield™ becomes the first EPA-registered paint that kills greater than 99.9 percent of Staph (Staphylococcus aureus), MRSA, E. coli, VRE, and Enterobacter aerogenes after two hours of exposure on a painted surface. Please read this for more details about Paint Shield.
Will you please do me a favor and help spread the word that I want to help by Painting-It-Healthy. If you know someone who is fighting infections please send me their story. I will do my best to donate as much of my time as I can to help them.
The benefits of Paint Shield comes with a little bit of a price tag, around $80/gallon, so if anyone would like to donate towards the cost of material please let me know. I'm testing a Go Fund Me account that can be used to make donations that will be used for material costs only.
